Dear Road Church Friends,
Barbara and I have just returned from the annual convention of the National Association of Congregational Churches, held this year in Wichita, Kansas. Its theme was, Love of God, Love of Neighbor, and Love of Self. I will give a full report of the lessons learned at our mid-year meeting on July 24. This Sunday, July 3 is our Communion Service. It is also Independence Day weekend when we celebrate the 246th year of America’s existence as an independent nation. It’s a time to reflect on our founding principles for which so many of our fellow citizens in this and previous generations fought and died. But as Abraham Lincoln knew so very well, the greatest threats to our freedom and independence are more likely to come from within rather than from without. Our greatest defense against threats our liberty is our commitment to, and love of liberty as a people, not just for a few, but for all.
Sermon title: All You Need Is Love Scripture 1 John 4:7-9 & 1 John 3:16-18
Blessings to all,
Pastor Norm
