Dear Road Church Family and Friends,
Hello all, I pray this brief letter finds you well in body, soul and spirit. I am happy to report from my conversations with many of you, that our church family is well and in good spirits. All of you remain in my prayers, and I remain available to you, so don’t hesitate to write, or call me if there is anything you wish to talk about. We are contemplating holding services on our property inside or outside next month. Many of you have been asked to let the Deacons know if you are comfortable doing that and if so, what setting you prefer. The Deacons and Executive Board have scheduled a joint meeting on June 23 to discuss your responses and begin setting a timeline on when to begin in person services and under what conditions. We are in no rush to do this but it is time to begin making plans to do so. You will all be informed after that meeting has been held. When we do begin in person meetings on Sunday mornings, I plan to continue sending weekly videos as we have been doing the past few months. We may send out a video of our in person service for those who are not there when they do begin.
The scripture readings for tomorrow’s message are Psalm 65:5-13 which is a celebration of the goodness and abundance of creation. The second reading is Genesis 1:1-31, the story of the creation of heaven and earth. This is one of the most written about stories in the Bible. Much of it intended to place a date on creation, or attempts to harmonize it to the findings of modern science. I’m going to suggest Genesis one is about something altogether different.
Blessings to Everyone,
Pastor Norm Erlendson 860-759-6720 normerlendson@gmail.com
