Dear Road Church Friends,
Barbara and I are at the 69th Annual Meeting and Conference of the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches in Milwaukee. This year’s theme is, “The Daring Endeavor of Being Church.” This week we will be attending Business Sessions, and Workshops on topics related to all aspects of Church Life, Worship, Mission and Challenges facing Churches in these post-Pandemic times.
This Sunday Michael Northup will lead our morning service, and our guest speaker is Shannon DePerry, who will bring us an encouraging report about her “OPERATION FRESH START” Ministry.
SERMON: News from “OPERATION FRESH START” Ministry given by Shannon DePerry
SCRIPTURE: Psalm 86:6-10
Lord, thank you for listening to my cries for help. Every time I have called on you in times of trouble, you have answered my prayers. There is no god like you. None of the gods that other nations worship have done what you have done for us. One day all the nations that you have created will come and bow down to you. They will all praise your greatness. You are mighty and do wonderful things.
SCRIPTURE: Romans 12:6-13
We all have different gifts in accordance with the grace that God has given us. If our gift is to preach, we should do it according to the faith that we have; if it is to serve, we should serve; if it is to teach, we should teach; if it is to encourage others, we should do so. Whoever shares with others should do it generously; whoever shows kindness to others should do it cheerfully. Love must be completely sincere. Hate what is evil, hold on to what is good. Love each other warmly and be eager to show respect for one another. Work hard. Serve the Lord wholeheartedly. Let your hope keep you joyful. Be patient in your troubles. Pray all the time. Share your belongings with others in need, and be hospitable to strangers.
LIGHT SHINING OUT OF DARKNESS
by William Cowper
God moves in mysterious ways, his wonders to perform,
He plants his footsteps in the sea, and rides upon the storm.
Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take, the clouds Ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and will break in blessings on your head.
Judge not the Lord by feeble sense, but trust him for his grace,
Behind a frowning providence, He hides a smiling face.
Blessings to you all, Pastor Norm
